Billy Cowsill had the voice of both an angel and the devil. I got to know Bill over a decade ago doing some prep work on the first Blue Shadows CD. Lanky, fidgety, but warm and friendly with a cantankerous type of country-boy humor.

You could see how life had worn him down however, and being a veteran myself of playing roadhouses, I can now fully grasp where he was at back then.

His music was appealing for it’s memory of what was good about country ballads before the industry got swept away and drunk with money. He and Jeffrey Hatcher together created some truly beautiful melodies and harmonies together.
